Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has rewarded each member of Rivers United football club with cash and other gifts, after they won the Nigeria Professional Football League title in the just concluded season.

The Governor was unable to hide his happiness after the state own club won the league trophy, and he has been able to make a lot of Promises to them.

Rivers United football club had a remarkable 2021/2022 season in the Nigeria Professional Football League, and they were able to gather a lot of points in the League.

Governor Wike promised to host the players at government’s house on Thursday, and he fulfilled his promise, as he welcomed them to the office and he also organization small party with the players and management.

Rivers United football club finished at the top spot of the Nigeria Professional Football League table with 77 points from 38 matches played, 10 points ahead of Plateau United FC that finished at the second spot.
