The family of the HRM late Eze Okwu Kanu ,the father of the leader of IPOB ,Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has appreciated the members of the press and the entire people who contributed in one way or the other during the burial of their parents,attributing the success of the burial as a result of the contributions, prayers and supports of the people.
Addressing Newsmen at their house in Afara Ibeku Umuahia ,during a thank you press briefing ,organized by the members of the family, the second son Prince Kingsley Kanunta lauded the media for the special roles they played to ensure the success of the burial.
Speaking further, he appreciated the IPOB members ,the Nigerian police Force and other security agencies and the entire people that grace the burial ceremony.
He further debunked the rumors in some quarters that Abia state government and the SouthEast Governors were not represented at the burial of their parents, confirming that they were at the burial ceremony ,but because of large crowd ,it was not so easy to identify all the attendants .
He thank God for the safety of all those who were at the burial ,disclosing that the family members are more united and stronger than before.
In his speech, Prince Emmanuel Kanu pointed out ,it was the media that helped to reduce the tension created by fake news before the burial, while urging people to verify any information before circulating it.

Earlier on ,the head of the family, Mazi Chijindu Offor ,said ” we sincerely on behalf of the family ,thank you for the success of the burial, no one believe that the burial will be a success, Eze Kanu was a peaceful person. All the people that came, all got home safely ,there was no casualty in any form “
