Utilize The Dial-A-Doc-Direct Initiative, Governor Ikpeazu Tells Abians

The Governor of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu  has urged Abians and the residents of Abia to leverage on their mobile phone to get adequate and affordable healthcare services.

Speaking during the Abia state Tele Health Support Initiative (ABSTHI) Super stakeholders meeting, held at Michael Okpara Auditorium, umuahia, he pointed out that the world is advancing because of the advent of telecommunication and urged Abians to utilize it to access healthcare.
Governor Ikpeazu, stated that,he has consistently pursue ” this dream to ensure that  every Abian has access to the services of the healthcare deliverers “,while noting that he is committed to drive the TeleHealth support Initiative to success.
He maintained that the only way “We can get access to the health care services easily is through the telecommunication,adding that many sick people want to speak to qualify doctors, but can not, because they do not have means and the only way to close that gap is by the use of Telecom.
He commended the Globacom Nigeria for partnering with Abia state government.
In his speech, the Abia state commissioner for health, Dr Joe Osuji, revealed that for over 40 years now, that the telecommunication technologies have been leveraged as innovative tools for the efficient and equitable delivery of healthcare services in developed worlds,saying through unflinching government support and formidable partnership with Globacom Nigeria and the Dial-a -doc. -Direct, the Abia TeleHealth Initiative is set to deliver affordable healthcare services Abians.
 He  said that if it is effectively deployed, will provide   millions of Abians healthcare services and enhance “Our ability to better meet for healthcare needs of our people, especially those in our rural areas ,undeserved communities and frontier parts of our state “
Earlier in her speech, the Dial-A-Doc. -Direct, principle consultant, Dr Ubiame  Omas hinted that the initiative works with the primary health care centers in the state.
She revealed that individuals are provided with special call card with personal Pin number which link the user to a doctor at the Telecare center, who in return provides healthcare services to the caller.
Dr Omas  lauded Governor Ikpeazu  for sponsoring the initiative, while urging Abians  to utilize the subsidized and easily accessible healthcare services.
