Senator Abaribe Describes The Death of HRM Eze Kanu and His wife Ugoeze Sally As A Painful Loss

The Senator representing Abia state South Senatorial constituency ,Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has described the demise of HRM Eze Sir Isreal Okwu Kanu and his wife Lolo Ugoeze Sally Nmeme ,the parents of Nnamdi Kanu  as a painful loss and prayed that God would grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
He made this known during their funeral service ,held at St Andrew ‘s Anglican Church Isiama ,Afaraukwu Ibeku ,Diocese of Umuahia.
According to him “It is our expectation that the family of  will keep the legacies and memories of the deceased alive,” he added.
In his homily, Rt. Rev Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, the Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Umuahia, said that  death was an occurrence that should serve as a reminder of how one would end one’s life journey.
Ibeabuchi said that it was pertinent for the living to make necessary changes in their lifestyle in preparation for the time one would be called to meet God.,added the dead knows nothing.
Preaching from the book of the Ecclesiastes 9 : 5 -6 ,he pointed out ” For the living know that they will die .They have no more reward .The memories of the dead is easily forgotten “
He enjoined the living to repent of their evil ways and accept Jesus ,saying one day ,they shall give account of their deeds .
He prayed that God would strengthen and guide the family of the deceased as they navigate through life without their parents.
Earlier, Mr Kingsley Kanu, the second son of the deceased, described their parents as honest, kind and accommodating.
“They gave us  neither eminence nor  wealth, but what they did give us was a close knit family built on a foundation of love for one another and knowledge of God,” Kanu added.
Kanu’s parents , Eze Israel Kanu of Afara-Ukwu Ibeku community was aged 85 and Mrs Sally KANU was aged 67 died on November 29 and August 30, 2019, respectively.
