ROTARY CLUB UMUAHIA NORTH DECORATES HON.PRINCE DAN OKOLI WITH AN AWARD OF HONOUR

The Rotary club of Umuahia North District ,has decorated the Abia state commissioner for Homeland Security ,Prince Dan Okoli with an Award of Honour.

Presenting the award to the hard working commissioner, during the occasion of installation of Rotarian Mathew Nwachukwu as the 5th president of the Rotary club Umuahia North, held at Kolping Society Umuahia, the New president of the district described Hon.Dan Okoli as a man who has been making sacrifices to humanity, hence ,the honour to him.

Interacting with Newsmen shortly after receiving the award, Prince Dan Okoli ,expressed happiness over the award, saying it is the first award he has received from Rotary club and that he cherishes it much.

According to him ,” We make sacrifices to people who ordinarily will not laugh for them to laugh.We give them hope .Probably ,this club found me worthy by the services ,I have rendered in this club and decided to honour me .I am very happy and this is the first award ,I am getting for Rotary club, so I cherish it “

Speaking further ,he pointed out that an honour from Rotary club is a real form of honour any body can get ,adding that “when Rotary club honours you, it means they saw something in you .They saw that you can sacrifice some of your comforts to make other people happy ” he said

In response to his installation as the 5th president of Rotary club of Umuahia North District, Rotarian Mathew Nwachukwu ,appreciated all those who find him worthy to lead as the president of the club, while promising to do his possible best to prove them right .

He disclosed some of the club projects for the year cover ,Disease prevention and treatment, Basic education and literacy ,water and sanitation, maternal and child health ,among others
