As part of the activities marking the celebration of silver jubilee of Mr Chidi Clement and Mrs Rose-Mary Ngozi Amakwe, the family members of Mr Chidi Clement Amakwe in collaboration with the Rosy Foundation have visited the St Vincent De Paul Physically and Mentally Challenged Centre at Umuafai Ndume Umuahia North local government area of Abia state to associate with them as well as put smiles on their faces by presenting some food items to them which include rice, beans, onions, groundnut oil, cartons of indomine nodules , beverages , loyal milk ,Milo drinks ,Viva plus soap ,ivory soap , toilet tissues among others.
Speaking while handing over the gift items, the Founder and President of Rosy Foundation, Mrs Rose-Mary Ngozi Amakwe said the gesture was one of the ways of expressing gratitude to God for keeping their marriage for the past 25 years.
She disclosed that Rosy Foundation in partnership with her family decided to come to the physically and mentally challenged persons to feel their pains and joy .
She further pointed out that Rosy Foundation is meant for the less privileged persons in the society.
According to her,” We decided to visit them today.The Foundation has done many other things in the past; we have given scholarships to the orphans who lost both parents, given palliatives to the poor during the lock down period of 2020 as a result of covid-19, sponsored computer training for the indigent persons, empowered people among other things”
Speaking on future plans, she revealed that plans are on the way to register the foundation officially and therefore appealed to kind hearted People to synergize with the Foundation in sponsoring some of their programmes .
Interacting with Newsmen, Mr Chidi Clement Amakwe said his family believe strongly in giving, saying that it is in giving that one receives.
He expressed appreciation to God Almighty who has been keeping his family for the past twenty five years.
He however , called on the privileged people in the society to assist the poor and the less privileged persons in the society even as he commended the Rosy Foundation for how their humanitarian services .
In her response, the Rev.Sister in charge of the St Vincent De Paul Physically and mentally challenged home, Rev. Sister Getrude Ukawoke thank the Amakwe family and the Rosy Foundation for extending a hand of love to the less privileged persons and lauded the Founder of Rosy Foundation for her vision as well as prayed for God to expand the foundation and keep the Celebrants alive to celebrate their golden jubilee in the next twenty five years .
