The State President of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide Abia state chapter and chairman South East and South South presidents,comrade Paul Nwankwo has lauded the Abia state Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu on his numerous achievements in the past 7 years in office, especially the completion and commission of the Osisioma fly over, describing the project as a signature project and landmark achievement.
Nwankwo who made this disclosure at Ohaneze Ndigbo secretary in Umuahia, shortly after their normal general meeting, said the Governor has done well in the area of infrastructure development and security of lives and property .
According to him,” We are happy with the state Governor ,Dr Okezie Ikpeazu on his numerous achievements recorded in the last 7 years, especially the fly over.
” We appreciate a lot of other things he has done in the area of Infrastructural development.
” We believe where he is coming from and his leadership style and the level of security in the state,we have relative peace which is Paramount and we thank God for that”
Speaking further,he cautioned those bandits and criminals who are terrorising some places in Umunneochi LGA and Isukwuato area of Abia state to desist from doing that or be ready to face the wrath of the law.
He however , commended the Governor ,the Local government chairmen of the affected areas, the security agents and the youths of those communities for being on top of the ugly situation.
Interacting with Newsmen at the venue of the meeting,the National Publicity Secretary of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide youth wing, Mazi Chika-art Adiele, said Ohaneze Ndigbo has come together and galvanized the political ambition and mission of Ndigbo and thank God for bringing out a credible presidential candidate in the person of Peter Obi of the Labour party
He expressed appreciation to the Labour party for giving Nigerians someone who is committed and credible ,added that Ohaneze Ndigbo are comfortable with Peter Obi’s candidacy , describing him as the man to beat .
Speaking on the issue of agitation in some quarters in Igbo land, he explained that the agitation is for the sake of Justice,equity and fairness because the Igbo race are being marginalized for so long , said what is needed is a fair hearing, equitable sharing of resources and that Igbos are generally peaceful people
Continuing, he pointed out that when the right person is on the throne,there will be no need for anyone to agitate and that ,” we want a leader who has the interest of Nigerians at heart and when Peter Obi assumes office,every agitation will stop”
He finally ,urged Igbo youths to eschew bitterness and rancour as well as shun violence.
” We must engage every authority constructively and intellectually and not through violence”
