Nzuko Arochukwu World Wide celebrates 2022 Aro Day,as Hon.Mike Ukoha urges people to vote correctly in 2023

The Nzuko Arochukwu World Wide Umuahia branch has celebrated the 2022 Aro Day with cultural fanfare as well as recognition of some distinguished sons of Arochukwu

The biannual event which took place at Ibeku High School, Umuahia was equally used for fund raising for the building of Aro Town hall in Umuahia.

Speaking during the ceremony,Member representing Arochukwu state constituency and Minority Whip,Abia state House of Assembly,Hon. Mike Ukoha urged his people to vote correctly and for him in the next general election, said he has been fighting for them.

According to him,” I have served them very well and have told my people to expect more of democracy dividends, good roads,water, education, infrastructure, health care ” he said.

Some of the distinguished sons of Arochukwu that were recognized included the Minority Leader of the Abia State of Assembly, Hon.Chijioke Chukwu, Labour party Abia gubernatorial candidate for 2023 general election,Dr Alex Chioma Oti, the PDP senatorial candidate for Abia North, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Chief Dr Daniel Chimezie Okeke, Mazi Stanley Eze ,Rt Hon.Chinedu Ogbonnaya Ijoma among others.

Expressing his appreciation to Aro people for recognizing him, chief Dr Daniel Chimezie Okeke said,” I feel good, humbled and motivated.It is a motivating factor for me to do more to my people and I am happy that they found me worthy to be part of these awardees” and for Mazi Stanley Eze,” I am so happy that I am one of the awardees and I thank God that I have served Nigeria and my people diligently”

Interacting with Newsmen shortly after the event,the chairman of the occasion,High chief Sunday Edmond Uche thanked all those who honoured their invitation and expressed gratitude to God for the success of the event as well as appealed to the people of Arochukwu to be united and peaceful.

Earlier on, the President Nzuko Arochukwu, Umuahia branch,Chief Obaa Nnamela, said the ceremony is very unique to him because,”it is the first ‘Aro Day’ celebration I am presiding in Nzuko Arochukwu Umuahia branch as president with my executive members”

He pointed out that the building of Town Hall for Nzuko Aro Umuahia is a project that is on course and expressed optimistic that his administration will go a long way to achieve the laudable dream and called on people to donate generously to the project.

He also called on the Aro people to vote wisely in the forthcoming general election,added that,”We are going to mobilize our people to collect their PVCs and vote wisely”
