NMA Abia State organizes free Basic Life Support Training for Road safety, police and drivers

As part of the activities to mark the 2021 Physicians week,the NMA Abia state has organized free training on Basic Life Support for officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps,Abia state command,police officers and selected drivers in Umuahia.

Interacting with Newsmen during the training held at Umuahia,the NMA Abia state chairman ,Dr Chimezie Okwuonu , said the objective of the training is to equip them with skills to be able to offer basic life support at accident scenes ,till arrival at nearby hospital.

He described Physicians week as an annual event of medical Doctors all across Nigeria, during which they review key health issues in the country, perform cooperate social responsibilities ,renew physicians pledge,as well as offer thanksgiving to God , adding that they make out time to have luncheon in a lively atmosphere.

Speaking further , the NMA Abia leader , congratulate the New members who were included in the roll of honour of NMA Abia state, saying ,” This is the highest recognition and honour a member can be given in NMA Abia state”

He listed the recipients to include , Professor Chuks Kamanu ,Dr Gad Uzoaga, Dr Uche Aguocha ,Dr Ibe Kalu Okorie ,Dr Okereke Okereafia.

Continuing , he expressed appreciation to those to be given special recognition due to exceptional services in the Health Care field in Abia state and they include Dr Edmund Ezirim ,Rev.Dr Uma Ukpai and the Federal Medical Center Umuahia

The Facilitators in the training a Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensive Care Specialist, Dr Doris ILo , assisted by Dr Ozurumba and Dr Dike Benjamin,urged the recipients of the training to utilize the training given to them
