New Yam Festival Is Our Culture and Heritage ,High Chief Victor Ikeji Declares

The New yam festival has been described as our culture and yam very significant as it is the first crop that Igbos identify with in every season.

This was disclosed at the palace of HRM Eze Philip Ajomiwe, by High chief Victor Ikeji ( Kpakpando Ohuhu) during the 2021 New yam (IWAJI ) festival of Oriendu autonomous community , Umuahia .

According to him , ” Culture for me is something that is very germane .
” It is our heritage and if we jettison our culture,it means jettison our heritage.

” So culture is our identity .It is what makes us who we are. Culture is what makes us Igbos “

Speaking further ,he extolled Eze Ajomiwe , describing him as his bossom friend ,who he has good relationship with.

” I am here to show solidarity to the people of Oriendu autonomous community and my very bossom friend HRM Eze Ajomiwe”
