The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Abia State Command burnt psychotropic drugs on Friday 28 August 2020 in their Aba Command Office.
Col. Mohammed Mustafa Abdullah (rtd) Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA confirmed that the quantity of the destroyed drugs was a total of 9, 110.252 kilograms comprised of 6, 574.116 kilograms of Cannabis, 10.81 kilograms of Heroin, 8.922 kilograms of Cocaine and 2, 516.394 kilograms of psychotropic substances.
The Abia State Heads of security Agencies alongside the Deputy Governor supported the NDLEA Chairman in setting the illicit drugs ablaze.
Present at the ocassion were the The Governor of Abia State representated by the Deputy Governor, the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDlEA, Commandants and Controllers of Security Agencies in Abia State as well as Traditional rulers and other stakeholders against drug-abuse.
