NACTAL Reaffirms Its Determination To Fight Child Abuse, Trafficking and Labour.

The Network Against Child Trafficking,Abuse and Labour (NACTAL) has reaffirmed its determination to pursue their mandate of fighting child abuse, trafficking and child labour .

Addressing a gathering of participants at their workshop held at NACTAL office Nkwoegbu Ohuhu Umuahia Abia state, the State coordinator, Mrs Ezinne Okey-Uchendu disclosed that NACTAL which is a coalition of non governmental organization established in 2005 with its branches in the 36 States of Nigeria , has received alot of attention because of its positive activities which centered in fighting child abuse, trafficking and child labour.

Speaking further,she expressed concern on the low representation observed on the Abia state chapter, stressing that there was need for Abia state chapter to be fully represented up to the local government area level .

She stressed on the need for more NGOs working on child trafficking,abuse and labour in the 17 local government area of Abia to join NACTAl to help achieve NACTAL mandate at the grass root level .

In his speech,
a member of NACTAL Abia state chapter,Mr Richard Okoro stated that for NACTAL to achieve its mandate ,they are partnering with the Nigeria police Force ,Civil Defence , Women Affairs, Women NAPTIP among others in the area of enforcement.

He further noted that social media is a veritable tool to help achieve in sensitization and information dissemination with respect to achieving their mandate.

In her Contribution the chief liaison officer Abia State of National Agency for Prohibition of traffic king of persons( NAPTIP), Mrs Okafor Nkemdilim expressed NAPTIP’s readiness to partner with NACTAL and other stakeholders in Abia state to achieve its mandate, assuring that they are always ready to play their role of assisting in the fight against child trafficking .
