Medical Doctors have been described as intercessors between life and death,revealing that in the course of carrying out their duties they intercede between their patients and the lives of the patients and it could be between the spirit and the physical.
This was made known by the Chaplin ,Queen Elizabeth hospital chapel, during the thanksgiving and rededication ceremony marking the end of the Physician’s Week 2019 held at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Chapel Umuahia ,Abia state .
While commending the doctors during the renewal of their oath of medical profession, the Chaplin ,Ven.Dr .Alex Alozie Ihemekwala stated that doctors intercede in the course of trying to save lives .
According to him ,” Doctors occupy a very important position in the society ,hence they need prayers. God will help them .In line with their profession ,they will take risks and come out of it .Let me tell you ,your job is not an easy one ,you intercede to save life “
In his homily earlier ,the chaplain lauded them for seeing the need to give thanks to God and for rededicating themselves to God ,while praying that God should continue to protect them .
He hinted that the place of intercessor in the church is very strategic ,urging that in Christian faith ,every Christian should be an intercessor to sense when things are not working fine ,adding that God desires His children be intercessors
Speaking during the thanksgiving,the chairman of Nigerian Medical Association Abia state, Dr (Mrs) Carol Iwuoha ,said “Nigerian Medical Association is here to give thanks to God for all He has done .God has been faithful to us .He has added new members and new caps to us ,so we are very grateful to Him ” she said
