One of the major contestants to the Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal House of Representatives Chief Kelvin Jombo Onumah quietly visited the erosion site at Ebem Ohafia last Tuesday after a with some party officials at Ohafia. On arrival he was moved to tears as he couldn’t stand the site of the erosion ravaging the community. He called on federal government to quickly intervene and provide succour to the people Ebem Ohafia in Ohafia local government area of Abia State, stating that the resources of the state government is too stretched for such massive natural disaster to be left alone for them.
Following news of the ravaging erosion in the community he decided to pay a visit quietly as is his nature, but was deeply touched with what he saw and was moved to tears. The promised to take up not just the Ebem Ohafia erosion site with the federal government if elected, but to do same on several erosion sites across the Arochukwu-Ohafia federal constituency.
Chief Jombo Onumah the Agbawodikeizu of Ohafia promised to make this one of his number one priority as he insisted that this has become important as the effect of the erosion is felt across the landscape of Ebem, even as the home of the paramount ruler of the community comes under heavy threat.
A candidate of People Democratic Party-PDP, Chief Jombo promised to be service oriented in his drive for service as bringing solutions to several social challenges is one of the reasons he decided to step out and serve.
