Jubilations As Professor Iwe Assumes Office As 6Th MOUAU Vice Chancellor* calls on staff to be kind to students

The sixth Vice chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike ,Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe has assumed duty as the New vice chancellor of the university, with a charge to the members of the staff of the university to be kind to all the students.

Addressing the university community  during his inaugural address at the Pius Anyim Hall , MOUAU,the former deputy vice chancellor Academics and professor of food science and technology, who is now the 6th Vice chancellor charged staff members of the university to treat students like the members of their own family.

According to him ,” We will not tolerate any staff looking for any thing from the students and we must provide opportunities that accommodate Outliers and weakest among us “

Speaking further ,he urged the staff of the university to embrace and maintain integrity  ,efficiency and excellence, while inviting everyone to contribute to the growth of the university ,even as he promised to leave the university better by contributing to ensure that the mission of the school is sustained .

His words,” I want to believe that I will do my best .I will contribute to ensure that the mission of the university is sustained “

” We must take decisions as prudently and useful as necessary and dedicate time and energy for the service of the university “. 

He  called on the Southeast people and politicians to see the university as their own ,saying ” it is located here for their good and contribute to its existence through donations, endowments and every other acceptable source of funds to enable the university achieve its mission and mandate ” 

Professor Iwe ,appreciate all the people for their prayers and support towards the success of the inauguration, while thanking federal government for giving him such an opportunity to serve .

In their separate speeches ,the MOUAU chairman of SSANU comrade Ken Njoku assured of the union ‘s determination to work with him and to give him full support ,while the ASUU chairman MOUAU chapter professor Mrs Chinyere Echendu pledged to work with him, even as the president of SUG MOUAU ,comrade Famous Otuonye thank God for sending professor Iwe,describing him as a man that loves the students
