IWD : Dr Carol Iwuoha Commends Women On Their Role In The Response To Covid-19* Urges Them To Take Care Of Themselves

The Nigerian Medical Association National Committee chairman on population and demographics, and chairman medical protocol committee of Abia state covid-19 Response,Dr Mrs Carol Iwuoha has commended women on the role they have played so far in the response to covid-19,revealing that many women stayed back at the isolation centers and other health facilities to provide support for positive covid-19 husbands, siblings and parents.

Dr Iwuoha, who is a consultant public Health Physician, made this disclosure while delivering a lecture during the International Women’s Day Symposium organised by Her Excellency, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu , the wife of the executive Governor of Abia state,held at Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia.

She urged women to take care of themselves and to continue with their professional and financial development,despite the covid-19 pandemic.

According to her, ” As we commemorate the International Women Day 2021,a very important role of women is self-care and advancement through, regular health check up,blood pressure monitoring, Breast self examination screening for cervical cancer and improved nutrition “

She emphasized the importance of women improving their nutrition, maintaining that a healthy person is less likely to have severe forms of covid-19 and that only healthy women can meet the needs of other members of the family and find relevance in leadership.
