Ikpeazu announces upgrade of Abiapoly touniversity,approves 500 million Naira For Permanent Site Development

The Governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has announced the upgrade of Abiapoly to university as well as approved 500 million Naira grant for the permanent site development.

Governor Ikpeazu who made this known during the 7th -18th combined convocation ceremony of Abia State polytechnic Aba restated government readiness to continue to synergize with Abia State polytechnic Aba to ensure that the aim for which it was established is achieved.

Speaking further, Ikpeazu who was represented by his Deputy Sir Ude Okochukwu explained that his government’s effort to bridge the gap of unemployment among Abia youths, established the E4E education program to train up youths in skill acquisition that would be employable upon graduation .

He commended the Rector and Governing Council of the Polytechnic for organizing the combined convocation ceremony which has not been done in the past eleven years.

In his address,the Rector,Abia State polytechnic Aba, Associate Professor Hagler Okorie said in spite of the numerous challenges facing the institution,” it is nonetheless exciting and inciting because our immediate society is a particularly voracious consumer of technical innovations, fabrications and skills and we must not fail to assuage this hunger .

” A convocation you will agree affords stakeholders: parents, guardians ,graduands and proprietors an opportunity to beat our chests to say we have successfully run the academic race with each stakeholder providing what is dutiful and required for the success of the pursuit and presents an opportunity to take stock and seek more and better ways to assist the institution in its quest towards ‘Excellence in Technology”

“In the quest to meet up with our financial obligations to our staff, this present management is determined to open and harvest other alternative route/medium to generate internal revenue.

” We have established the Abia State polytechnic Aba Business School which is geared towards providing teaching and learning to Aba industrialists, businessmen, artisans and all others that require certification of their trade .
” We have entered into partnership with a private investor for the establishment of Abia State polytechnic International Academy which will be for Crech ,Pre-Nursery, Nursery and primary school and we have entered into an MOU with an investor for the establishment of Abiapoly Microfinance Bank “

He expressed appreciation to TETFUND for its numerous interventions to the institution and thank Governor Ikpeazu for finding him worthy to bear the mantle of Rector
