ICAN To Collaborate With Abia State Government In Capacity Building ….ICAN President

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Will Collaborate With Abia state Government in the area of  Capacity Building..National ICAN president

The national president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ,Mazi Nnamdi  Anthony Okwuadigbo has expressed the readiness and commitment of the  ICAN to  collaborating with  Abia State government, especially in the area of capacity building of Accountants in the State, describing the body as experts in public funds management.

Mazi Okwuadigbo ,who disclosed this in government house Umuahia ,said he was in Umuahia for familiarization visit, lauded the Abia state Governor for providing for the professional body in the state  to build their secretariat and equally commended the Governor Ikpeazu for honouring the institute during the 49th Annual Accountants Conference at Abuja

In her speech, the chairman of Umuahia and district Society of ICAN ,Mrs Rose Mary Ngozi Amakwe ,described the reception of the 55th President of ICAN ,mazi Nnamdi Anthony Okwuadigbo as an epoch making event  , ” the son of Umuahia who has attained the apex of our profession having been unanimously elected on 30th March ,2019.I am so excited that during my reign as the chairman of the District ,a dream has come true of an illustratious son from my District reaching such an enviable height .I shower all the praises to the  Almighty God who made it possible “

She said ,” there are urgent need of ,not only empowering the professional Accountants  to break through the noise and identify the technologies that could drive the massive economic transformations as well as the disruptions in the accounting profession in the future, but also use them to train and guide the work force of both the public and private sectors .This spurred the District to enter into partnership with Proise Resources Limited ,Abuja ” we are committed to reaching as many to reaching as many Institutions and organizations within our locality as possible “

Mrs Amakwe ,pointed out that ,” we are equally here to celebrate our District’s building project by raising the necessary funds in pursuant of the vision of commissioning the N100 worth of structure ” even as she commended  Mr Chidi Onyeukwu Ajaegbu for supporting the secretariat project.

In his speech ,the Auditor general in charge of Abia state local government,Evangelist Chinaemeze ,Chinaemeze expressed joy over the emergence of an Abia son as the president of ICAN ,while urging he to ensure that he do the needful in the actualization of Abia state ICAN Secretariat.
