The Abia state Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu will not allow PDP family in Abia North senatorial district to head into general election with someone with illegitimate mandate .
This was made known by the Member Representing Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal constituency Rt.Hon.Uko Nkole during his weekly interactive Flo FM radio program called ,’Midas Touch’.
The frontline aspirant for Abia North senatorial district said the good people of Abia North are yearning for innovative and purposeful representation hence the need to ensure that the right thing is done.
He opined that presenting someone as a candidate who lacks self confidence scared of internal democratic elections of going through a party’s primary election in Abia North will amount to allowing a failure stand for the party during general election,added that an iligitimate candidate can not win the general election .
Continuing ,he urged Abia North party faithfuls to remain calm and steadfast disclosed that Abia PDP leadership led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu will ensure a legitimate candidate is presented by PDP Abia North to bear the party’s flag in the forth coming 2023 general election.
It could be recalled that Uko Nkole campaign organization had issued a press release stated that, “The PDP senatorial primary election of 24/05/2022 was marred with violence,hijack of ballot materials occasioned by Mao Ohuabunwa and his cohorts and no return was made at Ohafia the Senatorial headquarters of Abia North hence remain inconclusive.
“That the Panel members as constituted for the primary election is in violation of Section 84(12) of the 2010 Electoral Act as amended particularly the inclusion of Mr Gabriel Ndom a serving commissioner in Abia State .
“That his conduct also during the primary election is at variance with the Party guidelines issued by the PDP headquarters for the conduct of the said primary election.
“That it was only Umunneochi LGA delegates that voted while the rest of the delegates from the rest four Ohafia ,Arochukwu,Isiukwuato and Bende local Government Areas were yet to vote before the disruption of the Exercise by one of the aspirants Senator Mao Ohuabunwa .
” That we continue to support the democratic process and the rule of law.
“That Uko Nkole and his team will continue to be law abiding and follow all democratic principles and guidelines as stipulated by PDP constitution and Electoral Act of 2010 as amended for the conduct of party primaries.
“Therefore,the PDP primary election for Abia North senatorial district was inconclusive and still remains inconclusive”
