FRSC hands over N572,650 recovered from Crash Scene to Victim’s Relation,urges motorists to apply caution.

The Federal Road Safety Corps RS 9.3 Abia State command has handed over the sum of five hundred and seventy-two thousand,six hundred and fifty Naira(N572,650) to the relation of an injured crash victim which occured on 30th of June,2023,along Enugu-PH express way.

The Sector Commander FRSC Abia,Corps Commnder Paul I. Ugwu,while handing over the huge sum of money to the younger brother of the crash victim,Mr Chinomso Mokwu at FRSC State headquarters Umuahia, disclosed that the Rescue officers recovered the money and other valuable items from the crash scene during evacuation and returned them to the command.

He revealed that the injured person,a medical doctor by name Dr Kelechukwu Mokwu was driving a Toyota Corolla with registration number JJ 322 ER on the 30th of June,2023 by 11.43 hours had a crash along Enugu-PH express way.

According to him,” Our men rescued the injured crash person and took him to the Federal Medical Center and in the course of evacuation,a total of 572,650 Naira and other items were recovered.

” We also recovered 2 Infinite Android phones,Monipoint POS machine,some ATM cards,some other valuables, personal items belonging to the injured victim.

“The injured victim with the Toyota Corolla vehicle is a medical doctor and these items recovered from the scene of the crash have been handed over to the relation,by name Mr Chinomso Mokwu,the younger brother to the victim”

He informed that after the crash,” We followed up with hospital visitation,our rescue and medical men did a follow up at the FMC and we understand the young man underwent surgical operation,which was successful and he is recovering gradually” he said.

He urged motorists to apply caution,drive carefully,slow speed, desist from using worn out tyres and ensure that their vehicles are in good condition, especially during this rainy season.

He explained that,it was within the mandate of the Federal Road Safety Corps to ensure that crash victim’s properties, irrespective of wether it is cash or materials are intact and returned back to the owner.
