The Abia State PDP congress which held at Sacramento Event Center Umuahia,has been concluded successfully with the emergence of new State Executive members that will pilot the affairs of the party.
Consequently, Elder Amah Abraham has emerged the New State Chairman, who will take over from the out going State chairman Dr Allwell Asiforo.
Announcing the results after a peaceful voting and counting,the returning Officer who is also the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State , Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo said Elder Amah Abraham polled a total of 1264 votes to defeat his rivalries Okughu Kalu who got 395 votes, Kingsley Imaga who got 38 votes and Ukwu rocks who scored 1 vote.
Then for the position of Vice chairman of the party as follows:
Vice Chairman, Abia Central:
• Onwuka – 711 votes
• Obinna – 192 votes
• Nwaogwugwu – 3 votes
Vice Chairman, Abia North:
• Gabriel Elendu – 557 votes
• Emmanuel Agwu Ukpong – 31 votes

Elder Amah, expressed gratitude to the delegates and his fellow contestants. He praised the highly qualified candidates, acknowledging their contributions to the party and the spirited campaign they ran
According to him, “This victory is not just for me; it is for everyone in the Abia PDP who has worked tirelessly for the progress of our party. I extend my congratulations to my fellow contestants and look forward to working with all of you to take our party to new heights. Together, we are stronger,” Amah said in his acceptance speech
Speaking earlier in his opening remark, the returning Officer, and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, informed delegates to comport themselves to ensure a smooth, peaceful, credible and transparent election.
Senator Lawrence explained that the process is vital to the Peoples Democratic Party progress both at the national and state levels.
Continuing he expressed optimism that the party if well-positioned can still bounce back in 2027 by reclaiming Abia State Governorship position
