Education Necessary For Development Abia Traditional Ruler Declares

Education has been described as a major foundation for the development of any person ,saying It is important and necessary that every one to go to school ,with education you can enter any place and go places easily .

The traditional Ruler of Elu -Elu Old Umuahia Autonomous community, Umuahia South LGA of Abia ,His Royal Majesty Eze Dr Sir John Onyebuchi Onuzuruike ,who disclosed this while interacting with Newsmen shortly after the occasion of his coronation anniversary / chieftaincy installation and awards of their illustrious sons and daughters held at St Charles Catholic church field Elu -Elu Old Umuahia, said “I have been preaching education because its importance and with out education,I would not have been where I am today” he noted.

Speaking further ,he pointed out that “” We are trying to raise fund for the building of a clinic and a community hall for the people of Elu-Elu “

According to him,” Each community supposed to have a health center, for us here we have to go as far as St Silas .They are doing a good job,but overloaded with patients, so we pray that we have our own so that we can accommodate our people . It is all about development ,we do not have one ,so we need one that will be accessible easily for my people, ‘”

Eze Onuzuruike who said this is his 7th year on the thrown ,explained that ,” we gave 8 of our illustrious sons and daughters awards today ,because they have done great things for the community.We do not segregate ,we do not discriminate ,we try to open our hands ,do the little we can do and accommodate every body'” even as he urged the recipients to continue with the good things they have been doing for the community.
Addressing Newsmen,shortly after receiving his award ,Sir (chief) Uche S.Amajor ,who said he is fondly addressed as USA said his prime interest is on education of the young people ‘” I can not give them too much money , because if I give them money,they will come back to me for more, but if I give them education ,they will expand to take care of other people, so I strongly believe that the basis for emancipation for ordinary people is education, if you give them education, they will be sustained, my interest is on education”

He frowned at what he described as apathy on the part of some community members ,urging them to eschew it and participate in the development of the community .

Chief Amajor who said he is a servant of the people and silent person who does not make noise on what he do,said he is proud of the community ,but accused some politicians of dividing the community.

Other recipients include Hon. Justice Enyinnaya Okezie ,who the secretary Eze in council ,comrade chief Nmerole D.O received on his behalf, others are chief Amugo Martins Alozie , Rev.pastor Favor Asonye -Okorafor ,amongst others.
