Wearing of face Masks In Abia Compulsory and Penalty For Not Wearing Is N5000 Naira
The Abia state government has declared war on covid-19 ,saying henceforth every Abian and the residents of Abia state must observe all the covid-19 protocols, adding that wearing of face mask in Abia is not negotiable and any one who contravenes that will pay a fine of N5000 Naira and any hotel that contravenes covid-19 protocols will pay N100000 before it will be reopened .
This was made known by the chairman Abia covid-19 committee and Secretary to the State government, Barrister Chris Ezem , during the Abia stakeholders meeting held at Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia .
According to him ,”We are here to review our protocols currently as it affects covid-19 ,arising from the stakeholders meeting, the following decisions have been reached and guidelines set up for Abians and the residents to follow as it affects covid-19″
” In respect to night clubs, we are saying all night clubs cease ,All eateries should operate on take away and they must provide running water ,hand sanitizers and must put Banner showing No Face mask no entry “
” Religious worshippers must be maximum of 50 persons and must maintain social distancing and provide running water and observe other protocols and must have banners showing No Face mask No entry “
” Wedding and burials will go back to our protocols and should not exceed 50 persons .No cultural festivals for now , Every government places and ministries must place at the entrance No Face mask No entry”
He further maintained that all public and private schools must observe all the covid-19 protocols .
The covid-19 committee chairman ,therefore enjoined all Abians to support the fight against the virus, adding that community testing is on going in Abia communities.
