CNN ANCHOR CONTACTS CORONAVIRUS

Coronavirus hits CNN Anchor

Chris Cuomo, CNN anchor and brother of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, has tested positive for the coronavirus and is quarantining in the basement of his New York home. “I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive, and I had fever, chills, and shortness of breath,” Cuomo wrote in a statement on Twitter:
In his statement, Cuomo said that he would continue anchoring his CNN program, Cuomo Prime Time, from home. His most recent broadcast was an interview with Andrew from his basement, during which the brothers engaged in some lighthearted teasing: “Where are you, physically?” Andrew asked, laughing when Chris confirmed he was in his basement, and responding, “Well, you’ve spent a lot of time there, right? [Chris’s wife] Cristina says she sends you there a lot.”

The Cuomos went viral in mid-March for playfully fighting live on air about which of them was their mother’s favorite child, but Andrew became uncharacteristically serious about his brother in a press conference on Tuesday, calling Chris a “sweet, beautiful guy” and his “best friend.” “He is going to be fine,” Andrew said of his brother on Tuesday, adding jokingly, “He’s young, in good shape, strong—not as strong as he thinks—but he will be fine.”
