A former Deputy Governor of Abia State and Federal Commissioner representing Abia State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission Abuja, Dr Chris Akomas has been honoured with a Fellowship Award from Abia polytechnic Aba.
Dr Akomas who received the award during the 7th -18th combined convocation ceremony of Abia State polytechnic Aba on Friday,12 of May,2023 expressed appreciation to the Rector and the Governing Council of the school for finding him worthy for the award.
Continuing,he announced a two hundred thousand Naira each to the eleven best graduating students within the 7th -18th combined convocation period and three thousand Naira to the overall best student.
He further disclosed that Chris Akomas Foundation will partner with the Abia polytechnic Aba to assist the institution in achieving the objective for which it was established and made a donation of two million Naira as a take off .
Interacting with Newsmen shortly after receiving the award,Dr Akomas spoke on the need for the institution to embark on innovations and technology driven ideas ,added that ideas rule the world.
He applauded the Rector Associate Professor Hagler Okorie and thank God for making the convocation possible after eleven years with out organizing any convocation.
Going further, he expressed optimism that the Governing Council of the institution will not allow for delay again on convocation and hope that there will be greater advancement and better development in the institution from the level the institution is to higher level.
He said,”My interest is to see that the institution will provide the interests and innovations needed in Aba and give us Ndi Abia a leverage over others ” he said
