BREATH WELL ABIA: ASTHMA RELIEF CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES IN ABIA

The Asthma Relief Campaign Project, in collaboration with the Global Allergy & Airways Patients Platform (GAAPP), is set to launch the “Breath Well Abia” awareness programme aimed at improving asthma care and education across Abia State.

The programme will officially kick off at Methodist College, Uzuakoli, where students, teachers, and community members will benefit from vital health education on asthma prevention, management, and the dangers of environmental pollution.

In addition, the campaign will extend its awareness outreach to transport unions across Abia State, educating drivers and transport workers on the impact of air pollution on respiratory health and the importance of early asthma management.

As part of this initiative, the organizers will donate free inhalers and distribute free Asthma educational books to underprivileged asthma patients, vulnerable households, and transport workers.

The campaign will be carried out across five Local Government Areas to ensure wider community impact.

The Team Lead, Kelechi Nwangoro, will personally visit selected schools and transport hubs to drive awareness, encourage early diagnosis, and promote proper asthma management practices.

This initiative underscores a strong commitment to reducing asthma-related complications and improving the quality of life for people living with asthma in Abia State.
