The African Democratic Congress Abia Gubernatorial candidate in the next general election,Bishop Dr Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha has disclosed his mission of changing the narratives in Abia state when he becomes the Governor in 2023
Addressing the crowd who gathered at official flag-off of African Democratic Congress campaign and presentation of flags to all candidates of the party held at Ibeku High School Umuahia,Onuoha explained that he was not in the race to show face but to win the election.
According to him,”We have started by making sure that every sector of the system is well represented and that is why we decided to choose a woman of honour as my running mate and together we shall run and win the race” he said.
Bishop Onuoha maintained that his decision to change the way things are done and create a new face for Abia is because a new Abia is possible, added that,”we must come into this race in appreciation and in celebration of the hard works of our fathers, especially our founding fathers who many years ago decided to create a state called Abia”
He revealed that he would stand on the shoulders of wonderful past leaders of the state Chief Orji Uzor Kalu who is a good business man, chief Theodore Orji, who is a great technocrat and Dr Okezie Ikpeazu who is an academician to give Abians good and quality governance, added that this is the time to hand over God’s own state to God’s servant.
Earlier while presenting the Abia gubernatorial flag to Bishop Sunday Onuoha, the ADC National vice chairman on electoral matters,High chief Anayo Arinze, said it was in the interest of Abians that Bishop Sunday Onuoha takes over governance of Abia state because of his developmental strides and that he would transform the state.
Speaking further, he said the hope of ADC is that Abia state will give the party the first Governor come 2023 and enjoined everybody to join hands to make it a reality.
Continuing, he debunked the rumours making round that the party national chairman has been removed, describing it as propaganda which people must disregard.
