The Women of Methodist Church Nigeria and the entire Christian women in general have been encouraged to be home builders and effective intercessors as well as encourage their daughters to become the light and the best God has designed them to be .

The Methodist Archbishop of Umuahia,His Grace the most Rev.(Dr) Chibuzo Raphael Opoko who disclosed this while interacting with Newsmen during the 47th Annual Methodist Women’s Fellowship conference held at Christ Methodist Church, world bank Housing Estate Umuahia, with the theme,’ Prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ” urged women to maximize the conference and its theme in studying of the word of God as well as to be the light in their various families.

He described the topic of the lecture delivered to them,”Ezinwanyi bu Ihe’ as insightful and expository, while urging them to ensure that they leave the holy convocation better prepared for the role of virtues women and the coming of Christ Jesus .

He charged parents especially the mothers to befriend their daughters, added that it brings trust as well as makes the girl child to confide on the mother and that by so doing the mother can easily find out what daughter is doing.

Bishop Opoko however frowned at some mothers who abandon their girl child to maids saying such mothers find it difficult to inculcate the right way of life to their daughters.

” You must leave this holy convocation as a person of impact with the resolve to allow the light you have encountered to reflect ambiguously in your lives ,homes , businesses and offices and your husbands’ ministries must never be a reproach on the account of you”

He maintained that most daughters live way world lives outside their homes, not necessarily as a result of the rising cost of living, non payment of salaries and general bad economy, but because of insatiability as a result of parents failure to inculcate the right virtues on them, urging that no matter how astray a girl child has gone, she can be redeemed by fervent prayers and playing the role of a virtues mother.

Delivering her lecture at the conference, the key speaker,Elder chief Magistrate Enyidiya Uma Onwunta, who spoke on the topic,” Ezinwanyi bu Ihe’ urged women to instill the fear of God and the right values concerning marriage on their daughters.

In her words,” Women need to work hard to ignite the right on their daughters for them to shine forth for everyone to see.

” We should not directly or indirectly encourage our girls into worldliness.

” No foundation can stand without the Bible and we must constantly pray for our children and teach them the way of the Lord”

Speaking further, she encouraged parents to educationally lay good foundation for their daughters and instill self esteem and courage on them” she said.

Earlier, the Diocesan Women’s fellowship president,Nneoma(Dr) Alice Chioma Opoko commended Methodist Church women for all their efforts in lifting the church and for ensuring the success of the 2022 women fellowship conference despite the challenges they faced .

She expressed appreciation to the Archbishop of Umuahia Rev. Chibuzo Raphael Opoko, all the husbands in the diocese as well as the children who are making them proud.
