Army, Police, DSS, others in Abia, eulogise FRSC Commander Ugwu after 34 years of service

The leaders of various security agencies in Abia state and other key stakeholders on Wednesday eulogized the retiring Sector commander Paul Ugwu as Federal Road Safety Corps Abia state organized a befitting send-forth ceremony in his honour for satisfactory discharging his duties after 34 years of faithful service to the corps.

Leaders of various security agencies who converged at the headquarter of Federal Road Safety Corps Umuahia,took turns to speak, admitted the positive impact and transformation Corps Commander Paul Ugwu has brought to the transport sector as well as enhanced discipline among the motorists in Abia state

Congratulating the retiree,the commanding officer, 14th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia,Abia state,Brig-Gen. Nsikak John Edet said it was a thing of joy to exit peacefully after a meritorious service,added that it was not an easy task.

Edet who was represented by Major Inuwa, disclosed that to excel in any uniform organization, integrity and sincerity should be a watchword.

He explained that knowing the outgoing Sector commander was amazing added that,”We have maintained cordial relationship.I wish him well and pray for God to guide him”

Delivering their goodwill remarks to the retiree, the Abia state Commissioner of Police CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie,who was represented by Mbajunwa Martin Chijioke,described the retiree as a good person and prayed for God to sustain him as he leaves the service.

In the same vein, the Abia State Director of DSS Abia State Command, Friday Onuche described him as an embodiment of professionalism and a peaceful man,whose contributions always stand out.

Corroborating others remarks,the State comptroller of Immigration Abia State Comptroller Igwe,thanked God for keeping the retiree alive to exit service, said ,” We will thow your line of professionalism, discipline and consistency. We have been working together and have learnt much from you” he said

Other security agencies that delivered their goodwill remarks were Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, and the Nigeria Correctional Services as well as the FRSC Special Marshal .

Earlier on his speech,the Sector commander Paul I Ugwu expressed gratitude to God for his life, said it was not easy to serve and leaving hale and hearty.

Continuing,he said that most of the people he started with are no more,but God has been keeping him.

He thanked all the people that came to honour him as well as the organizers of the event, pointed out that the caliber of personalities that graced the event alone was a testament to the goodwill and synergy that exist between the corps and other security agencies in the State.

He urged the men of the FRSC to be consistent in whatever they were doing and ensure that the right things were done,while charging them to be safety conscious in all they do.

Speaking on behalf of the FRSC Abia,DCC Bridget Asekhauno, said they were going to miss their boss and assured that they would represent him well and wish him well.

The event also witnessed presentation of gifts by Exco of River Joy transport company and other associations.
