Dalai Lama the Tibetan monk once quoted “Genuine harmony for the oppressed must come from a determined heart to fight the oppressors.”
It is no longer news that Nigerians have contended with ‘kill-joy’ governments both at the Federal and state level.
The two dominant parties in the polity have turned to be colossal disappointment and failure not only to the nation but also themselves.
Nigeria became a nauseating metaphor for stagnancy, economic malaise, social dislocation and disturbing insecurity profile.
The late crooner,Christy Essien Igbokwe in one of her epic songs released in the early 90’s,titled, ‘Lets change the system’,where she clamoured for a paradigm shift in the system, style, texture, characteristic of governance.
However, the import of that message has become more relevant in today’s setting.
Albeit,a profound opportunity beckons on all with two hands to change this unpalatable scenario.
Fate has entrusted this decisive mission of rebuilding Abia state on the shoulder of the fresh, untainted APP with the task of shepherding her to the El Dorado of governance.
Chief Mascot Kalu,a tested technocrat has the burden of rewriting Abia’s demeaning narrative on the canvas of glory.
He has an ally in High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia.(Ihie Ohuhu).
They share a lot in common:passion for service, zest and youthfulness are not in short supply.
In his speech at High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia’s country home,Chief Mascot Kalu assured his audience that the time is ripe for the youths to take over the state to stamp out cluelessness and executive rascality.
To him,the two dominant parties are clinically dead and could not be revived.
He made these observations when he came in a solidarity visit to High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia in his Thanksgiving Service.
He promised to do all within his reach,in cahoots with High Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia to bring democratic dividends to Ohuhu people if elected next year.
The APP governorship hopeful promised to put Ohuhu indigenes into position of trust if elected.
He called on all to identify with the new party,APP as the vehicle that wil dislodge those dominant parties that have unleashed terror and lacklustre governance to Nigeria.
However,it is evidently apparent that the Nigerian/Abian voters have passed a vote of no confidence on these parties, hence APP naturally becomes the alternative that will bring the desired succour.
Time for this decisive change is now!
