Engr. Ogbonna Abarikwu,the All Progressive Grand Alliance candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency has paid the hospital bills of some indigent nursing mothers at the Federal Medical Center Umuahia and the Madonna Catholic hospital Umuahia.
Engr. Abarikwu who visited Federal Medical Center Umuahia few days ago to see the wife of one of his siblings at the post -natal ward of the hospital who is pregnant and had pneumonia .
Not long after seeing the patient that the plight of the nursing mothers filtered into his ears that they were awaiting release and seeing their conditions, Abarikwu extended his hand of fellowship and humanity and promised to rescue them who were trapped in the hospital after their discharged for inability to settle their bills.
He requested to know their bills and after getting the information from the right source eventually promised to offset the bills for the nursing mothers .
Continuing, first thing on Thursday,19 January,2023,the APGA candidate for Ikwuano Umuahia federal constituency sent his protocol officer Mr Beji Obioma Bejidadon to visit the Federal Medical Center Umuahia and hand over the money for the hospital bills in fulfillment to the promised he made to the indigent nursing mothers when he visited the hospital last time.
Mr Ibeji Obioma on getting to the hospital, therefore presented an envelope containing the money to offset the bill of the nursing mothers and realized that there were others who have been transferred to the Madonna Catholic hospital because of the current medical doctors strike .
Not deterred by the development,he left the Federal Medical Center Umuahia after presenting the money for the nursing mothers hospital bill and thereafter moved to the Madonna Catholic hospital and presented envelope containing money to offset the other beneficiaries hospital bills too.
Expressing happiness and appreciation,one of the nursing mother at the Federal Medical Center Umuahia,Mrs Anyim Oluchi Precious who is an indigene of Amokwe community in Bende LGA thanked God for sending Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu to show her child and family love as well as prayed for God to bless and help him to emerge victoriously in the forthcoming general election.
In the same vein, one of the beneficiaries at Madonna Catholic hospital Mrs Blessing Okonkwo who is an indigene of Lokpanta community in Umunneochi LGA Abia but married to a man from Umuchiezeala community in Ihitte Uboma LGA Imo state glorified God for sending Engr Abarikwu to rescue her and her child as they were trapped in the hospital after their discharged for inability to settle hospital bills.
She explained that for now she is not working and that her husband is a vulcanizer who hardly get money to feed the family and thank God for answering their prayers through Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu.
Coincidentially, two of the nursing mothers delivered bouncing baby boys Samuel Anyim and Miracle Oluebube Okonkwo.
