The Amachara community in Umuahia South LGA of Abia has honoured one of her outstanding sons, Hon.K.C.Ogbonna for his contributions to the development of Amachara community.
Hon. Ogbonna who was presented the award by the PG of the community and other leaders during the Amachara 2022 Day held at Amachara market square said they decided to honour him for his contributions towards the development of Amachara.
In his speech, Hon.K.C Ogbonna thanked the community for recognizing him and promised to continue to work for the good of Amachara people and development of the community.
Speaking with Newsmen,Hon. Ogbonna thanked God for making the event a success added that “Any where my parents are today,they will be happy because this is the legacy they left behind.
” When you come to Amachara ask of Paul Ogbonna Chidiebere,they will tell you that they were generous people.
” They shared what they had with others ,so we are following their footsteps.
“In the land of Amachara today,my siblings and I have been assisting people that do not have and we will try our best”
” This award will motivate me and serve as a catalyst to do more. I have people I am giving scholar and I will increase the number.
Hon.K C Ogbonna who is the Onowo Ndigbo in Egypt said he will increase the number of recipients of his scholarship program. He further called on Amachara privileged sons and daughters to help empower the youths , provide scholarships to less privileged as a way of reducing crimes in the community
