Amachara community has celebrated their Amachara Day 2019 with Fanfare and beauty peagent.
In his keynote address, the chairman of Amachara community, Elder Chima Uzoma Onyekwere ,who was represented by Mr Ikedichi Dick -Nwoke ,disclosed that for a society and culture to survive and thrive ,they must constantly invest in the local community and economy in Education, Enterprise and Commerce, Sports and Arts, Omenala -Culture and a high sense of equity and morals and Resilience.
He described, the Elders and the Youth as major stakeholders in the community, added that the Elders are the Custodians of culture, they have the memories of a glorious time past and are keen to inundate the youth with stories of the good old days, said that the Youth are the ones who will lead tomorrow.
He commended the Amachara council and other bodies within Amachara who have taken up the challenge through various initiatives to ensure that the Elders and the Youth in the community are working together towards an assured future.
He outlined such initiatives as Amachara Youth Mentorship program, Amachara Charities, while urging the youth to take advantage of the opportunities available.
In their separate speeches, some of the Elites of Amachara expressed joy over the the event.
Mr Enyi Onyekwere,said ,” For us today is a special day. A day we come together, thank God for being with us all through the year, for blessings of the year, it is an opportunity to come together and see our brothers ” while for Hon .Obioma Acho, ” the ceremony is something we have been doing over the years and we are looking forward to next year. We have a standard and we have to keep to that standard, it is a symbol of unity of the village “
In his speech, sir Felix Ogbonna C, described the ceremony as “super beautiful, it was introduced by Elder Chima Uzoma Onyekwere, it has united Amachara ” And for Nze High chief Nwachukwu, ” it enhances peace in Amachara, while Mr Nnanna Onukogu, ” it’s for celebration and smile, I look forward to incorporate the male youth .
Further in her speech, Elder Nneoma Diamond Joy Nwaubani, ” it is Amachara day, it brings the people together, it unites us. The 4 villages in Amachara come together as one. And for Ugwudiya Chidinma Chikezie Madubuko, the women president ,said, ” the intention is to unite Amachara and to show love to ourselves. We want those that did not participate this year to join next year one “
For Mr Morgan Iwedi, ” what is going on here is spectacular. It is something what doing. It brings unity. I encourage them to continue to do things like this”
The ceremony featured beauty pageant, dancing competition with one small displayed his dancing skill that attracted the chairman of the occasion, to award 2 million for the boy scholarship and the climax which was the beauty pageant won by miss Ngozi Nwakwu, who scored 66% to emerged the miss Amachara 2019 /2020.
