The Akahaba stadium Ameke village of Abiriba community of Ohafia local government area of Abia state was like a tourist center on Saturday 24th of April 2021 ,as a great son of the town and federal house member,who represented Aba south and Aba North ,Rt Hon. Prestige Chinedu Ossy was laid to rest .
Many people ranging from his immediate family members, relatives ,friends, political associates ,business partners, religious leaders ,traditional rulers ,amongst others have continued to pay their tributes and mourn the shocking death of Rt Hon.Ossy ,who many described as a man who was very passionate about helping the downtrodden and people of his constituency and Ndi Abia in large.

Interacting with newsmen during the burial service in his honour , many described him as a man who contributed immensely to the socio – political development of Abia state.Prince Edmond Igwe and chief Iroegbu Agu ,who is the president of Ultimate importers association ,expressed deep pains about the demise of a man they described as a peace loving and God fearing man,who has good heart ,and played a good role in the development of Aba.
According to them ,” We feel so bad ,we started this business of importing with OSSY and now that the business is booming ,he has left “
For chief Jerry O Kalu ,president of Aba sports club ,” Ossy was a good friend and colleague, a good politician, I urge his immediate family to bear this painful lost ” he said
However ,Dr Agbai Eke Agbai ,a former commissioner ,stated that ,” Ossy is not only a brother and neighbor but a great son of Abia, who transcends political party lines in his political life ,his death is a huge loss to Ndi Abia. He understood the importance of impacting lives ,with humility .He bettered peoples ‘ lives and leadership is about touching lives” he noted .
In the same development, the House member representing Ohafia North State constituency at Abia house of Assembly, Hon .Mandela Obasi has mourned and described as a great loss to mostly Abiriba community and the Aba people the death of Rt Hon Ossy Prestige, saying he was somebody who impacted people and gave them the dividends of democracy.
He pointed out that Hon .Ossy was a very nice man ,” that is why my community came out in mass ,this is one burial that I have never witnessed in my life because the people of Abiriba came out and gave him a befitting burial, today is the 4 day of this burial, we have done the one in Aba ,where all our traditions and cultures were displayed and tell the people how we feel about his death and today we all came out in mass, you saw many of the State house of Assembly members and the Federal house members ,all came and paid him last respect. All of us are mourning .It is a great loss ,he was a great politician, what I call great politicians are those who do what the masses like. His voice was loud in the National Assembly, where he brought a lot of dividends of democracy to our place”
Again , ” come to our community he impacted on many things and many lives .Most of the infrastructures did by the community, his hands are there ,that is why all of us came out In mass, so it is a great loss to our community” he insisted.
In the same vein, Dr Alex Otti ,described as is a ” very unfortunate situation, when a 56 years old man in his prime gives up ,the little children ,the wife ,all the dependants ,the job that he was doing at the national Assembly which he was doing very well, representing the people ,but we give glory to God because we are asked to give thanks in every thing”
He noted ” that somehow God has predestined that he would go at this time and I believe that is why he was in a hurry to do every thing, so he must have completed his assignment here on earth ,we can not question God “
,He pointed that ,” according to Aba people ,he represented them very well at the National Assembly and I urge the immediate family not to cry like those who don’t have hope of resurrection ,we shall all meet at the resurrection day “he consoled .
