Abide By The Policies Of The Govt ,Abia Commissioner For Transport Tells Keke Operators In The State

The Abia state government has appealed to Abians to look at the policies of the State government as well-thought policies for good governance and for the welfare of the people, saying government comes up with policies to ensure that Abians are given the dividends of democracy.

The Abia State commissioner for transport, Barr . Ekele  Nwaohumou ,who made this disclosure in a chat with Newsmen in his office in Umuahia, urged the tricycle (Keke ) operators in the State to abide by the policies of the government to ensure peace in the State

He pointed out that the issue of painting of individual keke in the state to the government approved color and the enumeration and data capturing of the Keke operators in the state is targeted to enhance security in the state and to easily differentiate the real Keke operators from those criminals ,who use Keke to carry out criminal activities in the State.

He frowned at those operators who are  only the painting of their tricycles with out the carrying the  data capturing, described  it as waste of time and useless , while disclosing that the two processes are meant to be done at the same time.

Speaking further, he encouraged those doing businesses in the State, to pay  their taxes to enable government build infrastructures in the State ,adding that ” these days people hardly pay their taxes,describing it as unpatriotic way of living”
