Abia state Government Making Sure That All Parts of Abia State Are Secured

The Abia State government has restated its readiness to ensure that all hooks and crannies of the state are properly secured and that Ndi Abia and the residents of Abia state sleep with their two eyes closed ,even as the ministry of Homeland Security in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force have inaugurated  EkeOkwuru  Vigilante group in OkaIuga Alike Ancient kingdom Umule N Umunso ,Ohuhu Umuahia..
Addressing Newsmen shortly after the inauguration ,the Permanent Secretary ,Abia state ministry of Homeland Security, Mr Emelogu Ikechi Friday Gabriel ,described the inauguration as what Governor Okezie Ikpeazu saw ahead of time and created the ministry of Homeland Security, noting that Abia state is the only state in the SouthEast that has such ministry .
According to him ,” It is because Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is  very passionate about the security and safety of his people and upon coming on board ,my wonderful and dear commissioner ,Hon. Dan Okore ,recommended that all communities because of the security challenges we have in the country should go ahead and form vigilante groups ,so that they can synergize with other security agencies ,particularly the police ,of course we know the number of police officers we have ,they can not handle the kind of security challenges we are facing now alone ” 

He further  charged the vigilante group to specifically assist all other agencies of security to provide them with relevant information and also to assist in security of their own immediately community and warned them against using their new position to witch hunt others or to be agent of confusion in the community, adding ” that from time to time ,we will give them the code of conduct which they must abide by ,while encouraging other communities in the state to set up what they are seeing here ” he said.
In his reaction, the Deputy Supretendent of police and DPO Ohuhu Division, Olufemi Ojo ,lauded the Eze of the community and his cabinet for deeming fit to come up with the inauguration,saying ” I believe that by the time we put them in right perspective ,we will achieve a lot” ,even as he  urged them not to see themselves as masters ,but servants and must carry their community along .
In similar vein ,the the Commander General  Abia state Vigilante Service ,Commander Idika Martins ,described the inauguration as very commendable, noting “that the outfit will ease out some stress on us ,because Abia state is vast and security is not one man business “stating  that their duty is to get information and when it is something they can not be able to handle ,they will now signal us ,so with such collaboration ,I believe Abia state will be crime free .In his response, the traditional Ruler of Okaluga Alike Ancient kingdom, HRH Eze Sir Innocent Nwigwe while presenting the 45 able bodied youths ,vigilante group to the ministry of Homeland Security and Nigeria police Force ,assured that ,” Our people are very peaceful ,this team will never generate problem to the government .I appeal to government to put in more efforts in training them ,they are naturally discipline people and I also urge you to remember them in your security budget” 
According to him, ” Security is no longer a topic in Nigeria ,rather it is an issue ,a challenge and disaster in most cases .In this community, the police does not know our exit routes ,nor the entrance of evil people here ,it is only the community ،so that is why before will expect Federal government ,and state government ,we will guide ourselves ,prepare ourselves and that is why we did this ” while the Traditional Premier minister ,Super High chief David A Okwuru said the entire community is very happy about the inauguration of the outfit.
