Abia state government organizes 5-Day Training Workshop For Special Education Teachers In Abia
The Abia state government has organized 5 – Day training workshop for special Education teachers in Abia state with the intention of equipping the teachers with the necessary skills to impact knowledge to these special Abia children of Abia

Interacting with Newsmen shortly after the flagg – off the workshop at De Merit hotel Umuahia ,the Executive chairman Abia state universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) ,Elder Josiah Okechukwu Anonaba ,said ” the importance of the training is to establish the substance of our focus in Abia child with special education. It is an area that requires special gift ,special time ,and special skill for us to get down to the root this child with hidden and treasurable talents and potentials “
According to the ASUBEB Boss ” we have gone on length to invite a very erudite scholar and specialists in the person of Prof Nwazuoke from University of Ibadan and a team of other scholars for this special training “
Elder Anonaba ,disclosed that Governor Ikpeazu has done this because ,” we can not neglect this special set of the Abia child “
Speaking further ,” he revealed that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has ordered that infrastructure and new buildings be done in these special need schools “
He noted that Abia state universal Basic education board has also demanded of the government to bring into operation junior secondary schools for these special need children so that they will continue after finishing from the primary schools that already in operation,which the Governor has approved

Elder Anonaba, described the training as another way of encouraging these special need children to be happy adding that their impairments can not deter them from reaching their great height in life .
He finally ,charged the team of scholars led by professor Nwazuoke from the university of Ibadan to also provide curriculum and special platform for monitoring ,supervision and evaluation of their education ,saying that the dynamism of this school sector is to be preserved when we have monitors that are valid”
In their separate speeches, two of the participants Mr David Okeugo and Mrs Okwum Uchechukwu Kalu ,who are teachers in this special need school, expressed their appreciations to the Governor of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and the executive chairman Abia state universal basic education Board ,Elder Josiah Anonaba for organizing and giving them such an educative training, noting that it is the first of its kind since they started working with the special need schools in Abia state.
