The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps Abia State, Mr Meshach A. Jatau has expressed deep concern at the turn of events of how a peaceful protest led to so much damage that can hardly be quantified in monetary terms.

Mr Jatau ,backed by a contingent of 144 Battalion Nigerian Army Aba , visited and inspected the extent of damage at the Drivers License Center Aba South which was razed down during ENDSARS protest two weeks ago.

It could be recalled that on the 20th of October, 2020, the endsars protest in Aba was hijacked by hoodlums who descended on public facilities, burning and looting, in an unprecedented orgy of violence and destruction.

During the fracas, the Drivers License Center in Aba South was burnt down along with other State Government public facilities.

Addressing Newsmen during the visit ,he pointed out that
“a lot of resources, labour and sacrifice was committed into erecting these structures, only to be incinerated in one moment of regrettable anger”

“Our youth should understand that two wrongs do not make a right. Therefore, we should always weigh the consequences of our actions before acting because, in retrospect, such actions will only leave us biting our fingers in regret”.he said

The Sector Commander commended His Excellency the Governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for setting up a Judicial Panel of Inquiry with specific terms of reference towards restoration of peace and rebuilding our public offices in the State.

He however ,enjoined all Abians to utilize the Drivers License Center at Bende Road, Umuahia and that of Osisioma to process their drivers license before the commencement of production of license in Aba South
