The Nigerian Legion Abia State, has risen from the launching of the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem Appeal, to beg Abia government to redeem their accumulated pledges made to the association over the years and not to bother making further pledge this year.

The Chairman Nigerian Legion, Abia state, Commander Ambrose Nnabugwu (Rtd), said the total levy owned them by the Abia government is to the tune of #38.5million and begged for it to be redeemed.

Nnabugwu asked whether the state government was waiting for the levy to reach #38.5million before they would pay, urging them not to make further pledge but try to redeem the past ones made.

In his response, the governor of the State who was represented by his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, felicitated with the Nigerian Legion for the role they are playing in the security of the nation.

The deputy governor urged the Legion to follow up the pledges made by the government, saying that perhaps the governor had forgotten his pledges.

He further made another pledge of #2.5million, leaving the debt to #41million.
