The Abia state Covid-19 Task Force has intercepted and impounded one Dangote truck carrying some alleged Almajiris
The truck was actually intercepted and impounded at the Aba road by Azikiwe road Umuahia for disobeying the covid-19 border lockdown rules .
However, the Dangote truck and the suspected Almajiris were taken to the Umuahia North local government headquarters where other defaulters were kept to face the mobile court on covid-19 .
Speaking on the reason why they were impounded, the driver of the Dangote truck Isah Amodu ,explained that he was coming from Akwaibom to Nasarawa state ,adding that he did not know there is lockdown in the state.
He however ,said that the people he carried are not Almajiri people ,rather those who he wanted to drop at Kogi state before heading to Nasarawa state.
Meanwhile ,all effort to reach the Covid-19 task force team leader to speak on that proved abortive and as at the time of filing this report, those suspected Almajiris were still at Umuahia North headquarters.
