A Methodist Church Bishop Urges Alumni Members of School of Midwifery Amachara To Be United And Support Their Alma Mater

A Methodist Church Bishop  harps on the need for Alumni Associations To Support Their Alma mater.

Alumni Associations have been called on to  support the different institutions of learning that helped to shape their lives  and made them what they are today in their various professions

 

Addressing the School of Midwifery Amachara Alumni Association(SOMAAA) ,at the Amachara School of Midwifery, Umuahia, during the inauguration ceremony of the old students of the school, the Methodist Church Bishop of Umuahia West Diocese,  Rt Revd .Chikadibia  Onoh, said ” it is good to give back to the school that has given you”
Bishop Onoh urged the Alumni members of Amachara  to be  more united and love one another, said it will help them to achieve their visions and goals, added that they should be strong, focused and remember what they promised God.
He urged other Alumni associations to emulate the Alumni association of midwifery Amachara ,pointed that they have a lot of visions and needs resources to actualize them.
He maintained that ,” Unity is very important. Without unity there will no progress .The unity between Doctors and Nurses are very vital ,such unity is required even in marriage”
He reminded the Nurses of the grace of God upon their lives ,while noting that God has been saving Nurses from the risks involved in their profession.
In his words , ” When we are busy saving lives in the labour room ,it is only the grace of God and by His mercy that we are living. We are here to say, we can not forget His Goodness in our lives .God has seen us through this time ” he said
Earlier on, the First president of the Amachara school of midwifery Alumni Association ,Princess Stella Ufomadu, expressed joy over the inauguration of the association, noted that  she is fulfilled .
She called on the Governor of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu to come and build a structure in the school in memory of his late mother, revealing  that his mother, though ,late now, was one of them.
Princess Ufomadu, appealed to the members to brace up for the challenges ahead, disclosed that a lot need to be done to assist their Alma mater. “Now that we have been inaugurated, we should not go and relax “
She applauded the members of the Alumni for their contributions ,commitments and support to ensure a successful inauguration, said, ” interestingly ,we have gotten about 6 more people that came on their own and have requested to be registered ,it means more  people are interested in our visions to place  our Alma mater in a rightful position “she said
