Work Hard and Be Focused ,Abia NEWMAP Boss Urges Youths

Abian Youths have been advised not to solely depend on government in everything ,rather to work harder ,with creativity ,innovative ,focus and to  learn any skill that can help to prepare them for future life challenges .
Addressing Newsmen during  the three Day capacity Building Training For Young People organized by Non -Governmental Organizations  ,Great Dawn Organization and Students Association  in partnership with Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project ( NEWMAP ) ,Abia state and Sisters Fellowship International Umuahia ,the Abia State Project Coordinator of NEWMAP ,Engr .Izuchukwu Onwughara  ,urged the youths to be more focused ,so as to go far in life ,saying both government at the federal and state levels are not doing their best  to assist the youths.
He pointed out that when youths learn skills ,they tend to avoid all forms of  youth restiveness.
He revealed that apart from being involved in execution of projects on gully erosion in the sub catchment places ,NEWMAP  are also involved in social services and developmental services.
Engr. Onwughara noted that ,it is because of this synergy  and love for the development of the youths, that attracted them to the capacity building program.
He disclosed that NEWMAP ‘s part of developmental programs include empowerment of the youths through such non governmental organization ,as well as empowerment of the elderly in the community through the non – refundable grants given to reduce poverty ,especially in a localized areas of NEWMAP.
Onwughara urged Abians to expect more positive impacts in the State ,especially in erosion gully areas ,adding that they are ready to bring remedy ,prevent and reverse  land degradation ,particularly in the  urgent flooded areas of  the state.
Earlier on his speech,the Convener and the leader of Great Dawn organization ,Master Izuchukwu  Izuchukwu ,  said ” the capacity building training is one of the initiatives of our NGO aimed at empowering the youths to become better citizens and active players in all matters that concern them “
He said ,it is ” our honest contribution to the small drops and showers that will eventually see the youth take their rightful place in family and society “
In a similar vein ,the Leader of the Students Association ,who is a students of Michael Okpara university of Agriculture Umudike ,Abia state ,Miss Godsblessing Amaefule ,pointed out that her organization is participating in the program  because of what the youths stand to gain in the workshop,adding that youths need a voice that is why she is sacrificing her time to organize and help them,saying the capacity building training program will expose them on how to grow their finance and avoid social vices
