Professor Gregory Ibe Education Intervention Scheme has been officially flagged-off in Abia central with a call for students to learn at least one skill while in school, saying that government can not provide white collar jobs for everybody
Addressing a cross section of students School during the flag-off ceremony held at Ibeku High School in Umuahia the Abia state capital,the Director General Gregory Foundation,Hon. Emeka Okafor, explained that the objective of the scheme is to reduce the burden of parents and support those students who are academically intelligent,whose parents are unable to see them through their education.
Continuing, he revealed that the Education Intervention Scheme has four components which include, the distribution of exercise books,the distribution of text books ,the university scholarship awards and the online entrepreneurship training to be tutored by professor Gregory Ibe himself.
According to him,” The online entrepreneurship training is where our principal will be training Abians and the world on the secrets of his success as Director of ‘ Skill -G ‘ company that is building laboratories in all the universities in Nigeria.
” He is doing this project to support parents to train their children and also encourage students to shun cultism and study hard while in school” he said.
He informed that about 350 Abians in different universities are already benefitting from the University scholarship awards
” I want all of you to take time and read the brief story of professor Gregory Ibe at the cover of the exercise book and it will help you to understand that he succeeded through hard work.
“He had no sponsor when he was in school,so he sponsored himself and his siblings,so I encourage you to acquire a skill while schooling in order to become an entrepreneur.
“Our Principal is a consultant to 15 ECOWAS countries and the United Nations , helping them to develop their economy and that is what he will bringing on board to develop Abia state if he is elected the Governor of the state.
He Further urged students not to emulate the bad ones among them and those who see Yahoo and 419 business as way of earning a living, adding that academic foundation remains the best Foundation, while urging the students and Abians to pray for Professor Gregory Ibe to succeed in his Abia state governorship aspirations.
” The Foundation you are laying for yourself by going to school now remains the best Foundation, because you will ripe the fruits of your labour in future.
” Anyone that wants to have a success future must be patient to study in school and follow the principle of planting before ripening” he maintained.
