The APGA candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency, Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu has disclosed his plan of developing a Road Map for the Constituency that will serve as a guide on his mission to represent Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency and to ensure that all critical issues discussed and promises made during the campaigns are transparently fulfilled.
Engr Abarikwu,while discussing Abia political issues and challenges of Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency on Flow 94.9 FM, said to be able to get up on any mission and know precisely how to get from point A to point B, a road map is critical.
He pointed out that taking a very close look at what is going on in Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency,that he has not yet seen the Constituency road map and hence his plan of developing one which will help him getting from one point of the journey of solving the Constituency problems without derailing from the initial plan.
Continuing, he revealed that besides bringing you back to base,if you run into issues,it brings Consistency in trying to deliver services to the people added that if the Constituency has a road map, when his time of representing the Constituency is done,the road map will be used by the next person coming after him so that the dividends of democracy is fairly and equitably shared among the three LGAs that make up the Constituency.
Explaining the steps he is going to take to develop the road map, he said three LGAs are within the Constituency,this is the basis of establishing a road map,being able to involve all stakeholders in all these different LGAs, remember that Ikwuano LGA faces its own nuances,some of these different from the issues of Umuahia North LGA faces as well as Umuahia South .
” First thing,we need to do is to identify who this key stakeholders are ,this will include community leaders,the youths,the women,we will sit together in a town hall formate and talk about the issues that are germine to each of the LGAs and in that process,we are going to filter out what the most critical these issues might be,it could be road, it could be health,it could be schools,it could be employment,it could be safety.
” We identify all these different items and we are going to have to prioritize them, identifying which ones are most needed in each of the LGAs.
” The reason why we must do that is because we know that funding is limited,there has to be a conscensus on what the people need,first because you are not going there,it represent
” It is critical that there is conscensus to know what they want to be done first and where they want to spend their money first with the available resources when time for implementations come,it will be very clear that we are following that road map”
