As part of the activities marking his 50th birthday celebration, Rt.Hon. Chukwudi Apugo has empowered 17 skilled youths of Umukaka Nkata Ibeku in Umuahia,Abia State with N300,000 each , which is a total of N5.1 Million Naira only.

The former Member representing Umuahia East constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the skills and youth capacity in his community by supporting them to thrive in their private sectors.
Addressing the Youths who gathered at his home town in Umuakaka Nkata-Ibeku,Apugo said,” I will be marking my 50th birthday tomorrow but the main celebration comes up on Sunday.

“. I want to support and empower skilled youths as part of the activities marking my birthday celebration. Only youths who already have productive handiworks will benefit from this gesture .I will support each of them with N300,000.
“I do not want to give money to those who have not learnt any job, because they might not utilize the money.
” I had wanted to invite only youths from Umukaka but was advised to extend the invitation to a few individuals from Nkata community at large” he said.

Continuing, he urged Youths to pray for wisdom and knowledge,added that when one gets wisdom, money will come and the person will manage the money well when it comes.
” I want to encourage you to pray for wisdom,be hardworking,shun envy and jealousy.
” In Umuakaka Nkata Ibeku we need to love one and another.The truth is that we need to make sure that we live in peace. We need peace and development in our community.

” It is better to empower someone who has skill than giving out money to someone without job.Those without handiwork go and learn something. By the God’s grace,we will continue to encourage and empower our youths,so if you are not one of the beneficiaries today, in the second phase you will “

Hon. Apugo congratulated the beneficiaries while charging them to make use of the funds given to them to enhance their skills and become self-reliance.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation as well as commended Hon. Apugo for remembering them.
One of the beneficiaries,Mr Ugochukwu Amos who spoke on behalf of others, described Chukwudi Apugo as a good and kind man,who represented the interests of the people when he was in the State House of Assembly.
He thank him for his genuine passion for the younger generation and called on other privileged individuals in the community to emulate his laudable gesture,which he said will add value and turn their lives around for good.
