Anglican Women Ministry and all other Christian women all over the world have been enjoined to” be Doers of the word of God ,not just to hear it and then enjoy it ,we need to put them in practice and live our lives in accordance with the word of God”
The Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Umuahia ,Rt Revd Dr .Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi ,who made this known while Addressing Newsmen shortly after the presidential address by the Diocesan President of Women Ministry of church of Nigeria Anglican communion Ecclesiastical Province of Aba Diocese of Umuahia ,Mrs Gospel Ogechi Geo- Ibeabuchi ,at the 12th Biennial Mothers’ Union Conference ,with a theme : LOVE ME MORE THAN THESE .held at St Paul’s Anglican church ,Umuahia-Ibeku Archdeaconry, encouraged women to always obey God’s commandments as children of God.
In his words ,” So I want to encourage everybody , that for us to show that we actually love God ,we have to obey His commandments ,God says ,if you love me ,obey my commandments. So I encourage all of us as lovers of God to obey the commandments of the Lord “
Speaking further, he urged mothers to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ and raise their children in the way of God.” It is the duty of the mothers to raise children and you can not give what you do not have ,so we encourage women to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ “
He lamented the rate of corruption and evil in the nation,attributing it to lack of the fear of God in the nation. ” If there is fear of God in the nation, no body will kill the other ,no body will think evil of the other ,no body will want to gather the entire wealth of the nation to himself alone .Corruption will not be there ,we will like to do things in such away that it will be pleasing to God and then if you are doing things that will be pleasing to God, it will also please men .if we love God as a nation ,if we embrace the love of God, then the love of God is express in our love for one another, so we need to love each other as a nation “he said
Interacting with newsmen at the end of the event ,the Diocesan President of Women Ministry ,Mrs Gospel Ogechi Geo -Ibeabuchi ,disclosed that God wants the church to launch out evangelism so as to reach out to those souls that are languishing and troubled .
She revealed that God will use women to reach out to those who are heavy laden ,so that they can access the help that comes from Jesus Christ ,saying the Bible says in Mathew 11:28 ,come unto me ; all ye that labour and are heavy laden ,and I will give you rest .
She decried the attitudes of some Christians who are relax and no longer go after the work of God ,pointing out that ,” our message is that people should reach out ,the zeal of people should be renewed ,the Lord should rekindle a new fire of evangelism among his children, so that we can reach out and help people who are troubled and when you present Jesus to them, hope will be restored back to them ” ,
According to her ,” God is our help ,so if you can introduce Jesus to these people ,in Him lies solution ,in Him lies life ,in Him lies promotion, in Him there is settlement, in Him there is hope to the hopeless,in Him there is healing for those who are sick .”
She further ,revealed that the women ministry has already mapped out some strategies on how to reach out to those people, which she said include prayers , visitations ,social evangelism among other things. Her words, ” We have started strategies like the kneeling women ,because we have found out that a kneeling woman is a winning woman.So ,If we are ready to bend our kneels,God is ready to answer our prayers,but it will not end at being prayerful women ,also we are going to embark on house to house ,one and one and markets evangelism, that by the grace of God ,we have started ”
In their separate views ,the wife of the retired Archbishop of Niger Delta and province of Aba diocese and first diocesan women ministry President of diocese of Umuahia ,Mrs Stella Chinonyere Ezuoke ,expressed happiness ,noting that ” when we started in this Umuahia ,it appeared nothing will happen ,it was by God’s grace that God use me with all the women and see ,this is what it is today .So you have to love God ,who has given us His son ,who came and died for us ,especially to make women to help in the gospel, let the women do things in the fear of God ” she advised.
In her view ,the wife of the Archbishop of Aba diocese, Mrs Hope Nwobia ,described the 2020 theme of the conference as a timely message to every Christian ,she urged women, not to toil with the privilege God has given them to serve Him ,”let every women serve God with sense of dedication and commitment and not neglect taking care of the homes ,our husbands and the children around us ”
Meanwhile, the Abia State Governor ,Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has congratulated the Anglican Women Ministry ,Diocese of Umuahia for their 2020 Mothers Union conference.
The Governor, who was represented by his deputy Rt Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu ,thank the Anglican women for their prayers, saying ” we know the value of the prayers of our women, the much we have been able to do as government is attributed to the prayers of the women, the Christians and other faithfuls “
