The remains of late Dame Peace Igbokwe the mother of Mayor Don Lulu Igbokwe have been committed to mother earth in Umuawa Alaocha Umuahia North LGA,Abia State.
Addressing the gathering at the church service, the Abia State Governor,Dr Alex Otti urged the children of late Dame Peace Igbokwe not to mourn like unbelievers but to celebrate her life.
He described her as a woman of substance who produced wonderful children and prayed for her soul to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
” Thank God for the woman of substance,who as if she knew was not going to stay for too long lived a fulfilled life.
” She produced wonderful children and I urge you not to mourn her like unbelievers but celebrate her life.As Christians we believe that her soul has returned to her maker “
In his homily during the funeral service held at Methodist Church Nigeria, Wesley Cathedral Umuahia,the Officiating Minister and Secretary of Conference of Methodist Church Rt.Rev.Babatunde Taiwo enjoined Christians and tbe immediate family of the diseased not to allow their hearts to be troubled but believe in God who is in charge of the affairs of all mortals.
However,it was the gathering of the la creme de la creme in Abia and Nigeria at Umuawa Alaocha on Saturday 10th January,2026 to bid final farewell to a great and accomplished woman,late Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe.
Late Mrs Onyekwulechi Peace Igbokwe (nee Ogu) was called to glory on the 18th October,2025. She was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to resilience,faith and industry. A prominent community mobilizer, woman leader and serial entrepreneur.
As a woman of unwavering determination and talent,she established herself as a highly successful businesswoman with interests in catering, confectionary and agro allied enterprises.
She was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fruitful Orchard limited, Orchard Farms and Kitchen Empowered Catering Services. She was also a CEO of Don Media Group and 2Flame Entertainment limited,among others.
Her leadership qualities and profound community spirit earned her numerous community positions of responsibility. She served as the Assistant Chairman for Umuahia North on Livestock Development and was the Chairperson of the Orieamaenyi Cooperative Society on Livestock and Vice President on Fisheries among other positions.
Late Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe is survived by many children among who is Mayor Don Lulu Igbokwe the Founder of Don Media Group and a former Abia State Governorship aspirant.
