It was like a carnival as friends, relatives, Alumni, well wishers , among others ,gathered to celebrate with Professor Oscar Obasi and his wife Favour Obasi as they dedicated their triplets to God at Presbyterian Church Nigeria World Bank Housing Estate Umuahia even as la creme de la creme in academia were in attendance.
The moment comes about three months after the couple welcomed their triplets together.
In the church service held at Presbyterian Church Nigeria World bank Umuahia, Professor Oscar, his wife and one of their relatives were seen dancing joyfully toward the alter while carrying their triplets children as friends and well wishers trailed behind, clapping and celebrating while the officiating Minister Rev Anthony Okoro Ufere received them.
Some of those who graced the occasion include: the Immediate past Vice chancellor of Michael Okpara university of Agriculture, Professor Iwe Madubuisi,the Rector Abia State polytechnics Aba, Professor Christopher Kalu Okoro, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Mouau Professor Nneoma Elechi Obasi,Deputy Vicr Chancellor Research and Development Mouau, Professor Princewill Ogbonna.
Others include Rev. Professor KC Igwe, Professor Onwuchekwa Raphael Iheke, Professor Blessing Offia ,Associate Professor Chidinma Okezie, Dr Stephen Unegbu, Hon. Kingsley Abba Njuku-Onu, Dr Enyinna Umezurike , Dr Umah ,Dr Victor Emehute ,Dr Uma Uzubi,Dr Chukwudi Njoku ,among others.
Preaching at the church service ,Rev. Ufere who preached from Mathew 6:24 on the topic,” No Man Can Serve Two Masters” urged christian parents and the celebrants to raise their children in the way of the Lord,so that when they grow,they will not depart from it.,while advising parents to create time for their children to give them good foundation.
He however, decried the unacceptable behaviors of some parents who devote all their times in pursuit of money,noting that such parents have made money their master.
” No one can serve two masters.Either you will hate the one and love the other. For you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You can not serve God and money.
” Every child has a peculiar,you must give them foundations that will take and benefit them wherever they go so that they can appreciate and propagate the kingdom of God values”.he said
Interacting with some Journalists at his residence, during the ceremony,Professor Obasi Igwe Oscar , said his family decided to thank God for keeping his wife and the triplets healthy. He glorified God Almighty for the extravagant blessing of a triplets,adding that they were not expecting the unmerited divine favour but God surprised them ” I thank God for giving us this extravagant blessing. I feel so humbled and happy. May God’s name be glorified “
Mrs Obasi Igwe Oscar, who could not hide her joyful mood, explained that when they got married, it took eight years before they had their first child,then the second one, before the arrival of these triplets,adding that God has really remembered them. According to her, ” God gave us a bundle of joy. I feel so happy,we are so glad to have them” she said
